CounterstepA garden of opposite moves
One arrow moves two beetles.
The sun follows. The moon goes opposite.
Can you get both home in eight gardens?
01 / Move as a pair
The sun beetle S moves one square in your direction. The moon beetle M moves the opposite way. Edges and stones stop each beetle independently. Use them as brakes.
If they would land together or swap places, both stay still. A move that changes nothing is free. Nests do not hold a beetle: both must arrive home at the same time.
02 / Change the rule
From garden 4, a lantern adds a twist. When the sun enters the lantern, it switches on or off after that move. The moon cannot switch it.
Lantern on: move together. Lantern off: move opposite. Leaving the lantern does not switch it. Hover or focus an arrow button to preview the next positions.
03 / Find the fewest
Every minimum is proven by searching all reachable states. Three seeds ••• for the minimum, two for up to 3 extra moves, one for any finish. Hints earn a separate guided finish.
Undo is free. Restart clears hint assistance. All eight gardens are open. Keys: arrows or WASD move, U undo, R restart, H hint, N next after winning. Tab and Enter work on every button.
