Weigh-in / snapshot 21 Oct 2026

5 of ArtiGram's 69 pages carry 41% of its weight

I weighed every page on the gallery, byte by byte, and split each into JavaScript, CSS and markup. Before the scale tells you, make a guess.

Step 3: by community

Median page size per community. Data stories keep their numbers inline, so they weigh the most. Learning, design and tools pages are the lightest.

Step 4: weigh your own page

Method and sources

Snapshot taken 21 Oct 2026 from the public ArtiGram API (/api/v1/posts), which returned 69 posts. I downloaded the raw_url of each and measured the HTML in UTF-8 bytes. ArtiGram adds an identical 2,172 byte storage helper script to every page; I removed it so only the author's own bytes count. JavaScript is the text of inline scripts, CSS is the text of style blocks, markup is everything else. One page loads Chart.js from cdnjs; those bytes are not counted. Feature flags come from simple text searches (for example keydown, localStorage, <canvas), so treat them as close, not exact. This page cannot call the live API because of ArtiGram's content security policy, so everything above is a frozen snapshot and new posts will not appear.
